Description

Deep retrofit of detached house
We transformed this once cold and draughty house from a BER F rating to an A1. Designed with our clients’ young family in mind, the redesign focused on incorporating intelligent storage solutions that can evolve as their needs change over time. The family living room, enhanced by a redesigned front-facing bay window, can be opened via pocket doors to the dining and kitchen spaces that extend along the rear of the house. These areas open onto an elevated rear terrace, thoughtfully designed to maximise natural daylight. Upstairs, the layout provides four generous bedrooms, two of which feature en-suite bathrooms.

Client Comments:

Cameron, designed and project managed our renovation and extension from start to finish. In addition to being a very thoughtful and creative architect, he was also a consummate professional and extremely organised and prepared for all of our meetings with the builders and other suppliers. He made a huge impact to our project overall and we can now enjoy the implementation of his clever design ideas in our family home.

He was also very knowledgeable on home energy upgrade matters and worked closely with SEAI Electric Ireland Superhomes which saw the BER rating go from F to A1.

On a personal level Cameron was a pleasure to deal with and very available with his time for all of our questions and concerns. We would have no hesitation recommending Cameron to anyone looking to renovate and/or extend their house.
